Hi, I'm Jamie  👋

I like creating things people can feel — experiences that teach, connect, and invite people in.

My work lives across brand strategy, experience design, and cider — from shaping journeys and messaging to leading tastings, exploring new ideas, and creating experiences people remember.

At the heart of it all is the same goal: to make things feel clear, welcoming, and worth gathering around.

SWITCHCRAFT STUDIO LLC

Switchcraft is my umbrella for work that teaches, connects, and creates memorable experiences — because I don’t believe meaningful work has to fit neatly into one lane.

My Journey

I started as a graphic designer because I loved making things look good and say the right thing.

I stayed because I love making things
work.

Zig-zag career:

→ graphic design
→ art direction
→ creative direction + brand strategy
→ marketing + communications
→ UX/UI + creative leadership
→ CX/UX + operations

What’s been consistent?

I’m drawn to the messy middle.
The places where people get stuck.
The handoffs that break.
The communication that creates confusion.
The experience that should feel simple … but doesn’t yet.

"Jamie has a knack at getting to the bottom of any problem and providing clear steps to get things done."

A few things you can count on

I’m often at my best when things are messy: getting to the root of the problem, finding the pattern, and turning it into clear next steps.

  • 20+ years across design, customer experience, communications, and operations
  • Experience spanning tech, nonprofit/community work, and maker- and hospitality-adjacent spaces

I’m a dot-connector by nature — the kind of person who keeps a random jar or interesting piece of packaging because it might be useful someday. Honestly, it usually is. That same brain shows up in my work: collecting signals, noticing patterns, and building the thing that makes everything click.

My approach is equal parts:

Clarity — make it understandable
Craft — make it feel cared for
Systems — make it sustainable
Kindness — make it human

A few delightfully specific things

I host a Meat Raffle
I help host an annual Meat Raffle to benefit St. John Center, where I also serve on the board. It’s chaotic-good community joy with a truly questionable amount of meat.

Soundtracks are my comfort zone.
I love how they shape emotion and pacing – basically a sneaky lesson in storytelling.

I ferment cider in my basement.
Yeast is tiny magic, and I’m happily learning out loud. Follow along here.

I’m an elite gift giver.
Thoughtful, specific, occasionally weird, and almost never generic.

I love to travel for the details.
Give me a cidery, a cooking class, and an old neighborhood full of beautiful buildings, and I’m having a great time.

Hammocks are peak happiness.
That’s it. That’s the entry.
